Cairns Crocodiles Calls For APAC Presenters As Topics In The Tropics Opens For 2027

Asia-Pacific's sharpest creative minds are invited to submit their boldest and brightest ideas as Cairns Crocodiles presented by Pinterest officially opens its Topics in the Tropics session submission portal.
Organisers of the landmark three-day festival, taking place in the tropical city of Cairns in Far North Queensland, Australia, from Tuesday 25 to Thursday 27 May 2027, are calling on marketers, innovators and creative talent from across the Asia-Pacific to submit the ideas that will shape next year's programme.
The industry-wide callout is designed to hand the microphone to the people behind the ideas, offering a rare opportunity for marketers, creatives and innovators to step into the spotlight and share bold, game-changing thinking with the industry's biggest decision-makers.
The opening of the session submission process follows a standout 2026 festival, which attracted more than 2,300 delegates and welcomed world-class speakers from Tokyo, China, Singapore, New Zealand, Mumbai, London, New York and beyond.
It included talks by award-winning Creative Director, Author and Founder of The 7th Tribe, Jane Evans. One of which was presented by Mavens Founder Leah Morris – 'What's a Sheila got to do to get a beer around here? Invent it.' Mavens has been a proud industry partner of Cairns Crocodiles since 2025.
"From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Taika Waititi and advertising pioneer Sir Martin Sorrell, to some of the Asia-Pacific's most influential creative and marketing leaders including former Condé Nast China MD Gill Zhou and Hakuhodo global executive creative director Morihiko Hasebe, Cairns Crocodiles has become a destination for world-class ideas," said Pippa Chambers, content director, Cairns Crocodiles.
"As we head into our sixth year, the bar has never been higher and we're looking for the conversations that will define what's next for our region, not simply reflect what's happening today."
Whether it's a mainstage keynote or a session across one of the Building Brands, Rewilding Creativity, Film & Screen or Hemingway’s Brewery stages, submissions for fresh, original and impossible to ignore ideas are welcome.
Rosie Oakshott, managing partner of Cairns Crocodiles, B&T and The Misfits Media, echoed the sentiment, highlighting Asia-Pacific as a major strategic focus for the festival.
“Asia-Pacific isn't just a focus for us, it's fundamental to where Cairns Crocodiles is heading,” Oakshott said.
"We're actively getting out into the region, meeting the people and brands shaping the future of creativity. We've already spent time in Singapore and Japan since this year's festival, later this month we'll be in South Korea continuing those conversations, and a trip to Mumbai planned in the near future. We can't wait to welcome even more Asia-Pacific voices to the Cairns stage in 2027."
Topics in the Tropics submissions are now open, and close on 31 October 2026. Successful submissions will form part of the Cairns Crocodiles presented by Pinterest programme, taking place in Cairns, Australia, from 25-27 May 2027.
Due to the volume of submissions, Cairns Crocodiles is unable to provide individual feedback. If you haven't had a reply by 31 December 2026, your submission has unfortunately been unsuccessful.
