Poppet & Mavens Host Podcast Launch Party at Humdinger

Friday night: Together with production company Poppet, adland gender equality movement Mavens launched their first podcast ‘Mind Your Manners’ to 100 movers and shakers at Humdinger Studios in Brunswick.

Promising to empower women and minorities, educate allies and entertain everyone, ‘Mind Your Manners’ pulls up a chair to the rituals, behaviours and unspoken codes that shape how we live, work and show up.

Poppet produced six full-length video episodes for the podcast, alongside a trailer featuring cinematography by Alex Naughton and a mnemonic by Tristan Dewey of Bang Bang Studios. 3P Studios delivered the mix, with Jessie Brinkman Evans shooting stills for the launch campaign. Episodes were recorded at Humdinger.

The podcast is hosted by Mavens founder Leah Morris and OK COOL Creative Director Casey Henderson. Guests include trans-advocate Aysha Buffet (Fashion Stylist and Performer), Georgina Pownall MBA (Managing Partner, By All Means), Charlotte Adorjan (ECD at Taboo Group), Natalie Taylor (Founder and Executive Producer, Poppet), Amber Bonney (Founder and CEO, The Edison Agency) and Jules Stretch (Creative at Remedy and Founder, Queers in Ads).

Jules, who also performs as fabulous drag queen ‘Mum’, delivered a standout performance to entertain guests before drawing the raffle of the evening, which saw winners awarded a copy of Mavens’ jigsaw puzzle ‘The Balancing Act’ and a beautiful bouquet donated by Babylon Flowers.

Leah and Casey delivered heartfelt speeches, with Casey listing off the women who inspired him to become a champion for individuality, and Leah citing the importance of role models and mentoring to help women not only survive the industry, but thrive in it.

Producers Anna King and Elizabeth Malcher spoke to Poppet’s ongoing commitment to creating inclusive spaces both behind and in front of the camera.

The podcast’s presenting partners include recruitment agency No Sunday Blues, Northside Casting and post-production house 3P Studio. Event drinks were by Pizzini Wines and Pique Seasons.
