Can you tell us about your background and how you got started in digital marketing?
I have a background in health and science. My journey has been pretty unconventional. After graduating, I leaned toward finding more opportunities in the creative/marketing space. This led me to up-skilling and doing part time and freelance work in various areas of digital marketing including design, copywriting, SEO and social media.
What led you to start your own agency, Havilah Creative? How did you come up with the name?
I wanted to create a space for female led businesses where they could market authentically with the right support without having to feel misaligned with their marketing tactics.
The name really stood out to me one day when I was reading this Bible verse.
“A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters. The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold.” - Genesis 2:10-11
I fell in love with the name.
Can you tell us more about the types of businesses you work with most often? Why do you enjoy working with female entrepreneurs in particular?
I work with purpose-driven experts and brands helping them get visible on social media and make more money. I enjoy working with female entrepreneurs because I want to live in a world where there are many more examples of successful women and minorities who are thriving in their businesses.
What inspired you to develop your Content Conversion Method, and how has it helped your clients to achieve their marketing goals?
Working with my clients, I realised that creating content wasn’t enough. You could post all day and night and get zero results. The content conversion method we use came out of that desire to help our clients create more content that sells.
What advice would you give to someone who is just starting their career in digital marketing?
There are so many ways to go about it.
Don’t feel discouraged if your journey doesn’t look like the next person’s journey.
What's something fun or interesting that most people don't know about you?
I’m a movie buff. If I’m not stuck in a book, I’m probably catching up on the latest movies in the cinema.
